Ayfie and Telenor AI Factory Enters Partnership

The partnership gives Nordic and European businesses access to Made-in-Norway AI technology where data is stored and processed on Norwegian soil with no third-party access, offering the highest level of data security for Nordic and European businesses.

When businesses look to use generative AI on their own systems and documents, many hit a wall: Where does the data go, and who can access it? Ayfie and Telenor AI Factory are now joining forces on a Nordic solution that enables organizations to search, summarize, and extract insight from their own data, with storage and AI processing in Norway, on Norwegian-owned and operated AI infrastructure.

Ayfie's RAG technology grounds AI responses in the organization's own documents with source references. The platform integrates quickly with existing systems, with no heavy migrations required. It is built to run leading language models securely in a closed environment, giving customers model flexibility. The AI infrastructure runs on renewable energy.

Clients requesting Nordic AI end to end

The partnership combines Ayfie's AI platform for enterprise search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) with Telenor AI Factory's AI cloud platform. Nordic and European businesses can deploy generative AI on their own data without information leaving Norwegian borders.

"Many organizations want to use generative AI but are held back by requirements around confidentiality, privacy, and digital sovereignty. With Telenor AI Factory, we have a foundation that lets customers use modern AI models from on their own data and on Norwegian servers," says Herman Sjøberg, CEO of Ayfie.

"Telenor AI Factory provides a secure arena for AI innovation in Norway. The collaboration with Ayfie strengthens our offering to organizations that want to use AI on their own data with the highest degree of security and control," says Kaaren Hilsen, CEO of Telenor AI Factory.

For many organizations, "AI in the cloud" has become a governance issue, not just an IT issue. International data flows, new regulatory requirements, and growing attention to foreign jurisdiction are driving demand for solutions that provide technical and legal control over data and models.

How the solution works

Ayfie connects to the organization's internal data sources (document archives, line-of-business systems, email, file shares). Data is indexed and made searchable with access controls and logging. Users ask questions in natural language and receive answers grounded in internal sources, with references to the underlying documents. Everything runs on Telenor AI Factory's platform, where data is processed and stored in Norway.

Particularly relevant for

  • Public sector and municipalities: Faster case processing and better retrieval across large volumes of unstructured information.

  • Legal environments: efficient document review under confidentiality obligations.

  • Health and care: support for knowledge work without compromising patient data security.

  • Finance, banking, and insurance: compliance, risk, and documentation across multiple systems.

  • Critical infrastructure, energy, and industry: preparedness, resilience, and control over sensitive operational data.
